Our Family

John William Garratt was the son of Frances Garratt and Francis Ellen Holland.
Born abt 1908 England. John married Florence Sidler in 1932. Florence was the daughter
of Louis Sidler and Louisa Golding and was born 1891 South Melbourne Victoria.
Florence was married previously to Frederick Mcrostie and had eight children.
John and Florence had three children, Shirley Francis, Edward Frances and "Living".
Florence died in 1954 in Kalgoorlie Western Australia.
John remarried and had three more daughters.
He died 02/08/1976 and is buried in Fremantle Western Australia.

Robert Noel was born in Sussex England abt 1866. His parents were Charles Noel and Sarah Ann Taylor.
Robert was a Police Constable and a Fireman. Robert married Emily Tuppen in 1890 in Lewes Sussex.
Emily was the daughter of John Tuppen and Harriet Haryott. Robert and Emily had three children
William Horace, Robert and Edith Emily.

William Horace Noel was born abt 1891 in Brighton England.
He joined the army and was a Lance Corporal, 1st Battalion, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry,
William was killed in action France and Flanders 04/11/1918.
He is buried in the St Souplet British Cemetery.

Aloys was born abt 1825 Hamburg, Germany. He arrived in Adelaide, South Australia on board the "Australia" in 1850. Aloys married Sarah Maria Nottage in 1852; Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Nottage and Sarah Quy .
She was born abt 1830 Henham Essex England.
Aloys and Sarah had eleven children and lived around Meadows and Dashwoods Gully in South Australia.
Sarah died 06/06/1890 and Aloys died 17/09/1921.

Nottage

Thomas Nottage was born abt 1804 Henham Essex. His parents were Thomas Nottage and Mary (Mariah) Living. Thomas married Sarah Quy and they had their children in Essex.
The family immigrated to Australia leaving Henham Essex in December 1848 on board
the "Ramilies" arriving in South Australia April 1849. The family settled around Meadows in South Australia.
Thomas and Sarah both died in the area, Sarah 03/08/1880 and Thomas 10/01/1881

A native of Hawick Scotland. ---
